Is Your Child Ready to Get Faster and More Confident in Math?
Building speed starts with knowing the method. This workbook helps your child practice 14 Grade 6 math skills, from large-number operations to mixed numbers, decimals, and percentages.
Each chapter begins with a worked example, followed by focused practice with the same type of problem. Your child sees how the method works before trying it independently.
What Makes This Practice Different?
Getting better at math takes more than doing random problems. Children benefit from seeing the method, applying it repeatedly, and recognizing different types of problems.
- One skill at a time. Each chapter focuses on a specific skill, giving your child time to get familiar with the method before moving on.
- Worked examples before practice. Instead of being left to figure out how to begin, your child first sees a problem solved step by step.
- More than routine calculations. Half the chapters use missing-number problems, where children must find a missing addend, divisor, or another value rather than simply calculate the result.
- Progress without a race against the clock. Every practice page has a Time box, but there are no required times or speed targets. Your child can record how long a page takes or leave the box blank.
How Each Chapter Works
All 14 chapters follow the same three-step sequence:
EXAMPLE → PRACTICE → IMPROVE
1. EXAMPLE – See the method.
The first page of each chapter presents a worked example with numbered steps, showing your child how to solve the problem before trying similar questions independently.
2. PRACTICE – Apply the method.
Your child works through similar problems, applying the demonstrated method repeatedly and building familiarity with the skill.
3. IMPROVE – Check your work and learn from mistakes.
The answer key at the back of the workbook is organized by page. Your child can check their answers, record their score, and return to the worked example when they need help understanding a mistake.
