This policy explains what information NermilioBooks.com collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
NermilioBooks.com is run by the author of the Nermilio Books math workbooks, working independently from Serbia. For any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us here.
The short version
We do not sell books directly on this site, and we do not run user accounts. We collect very little. We never sell or rent personal data to anyone.
What we collect
Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to answer you and nothing else.
Mailing list, if you join one. If we offer a newsletter or a free download and you sign up, we collect the email address and any name you provide. You can unsubscribe from any message we send, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our host and analytics record standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, the page that referred you, and the date and time. We use this data in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and whether the site is working.
What we do not collect. We do not collect payment card details, billing addresses, or purchase histories. All purchases happen on Amazon or Gumroad, on their systems, under their privacy policies. We never see your payment information.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:
– Essential cookies – required for the site to load and function.
– Analytics cookies – to count visits and see which pages are read. [Name your analytics provider here, e.g. Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom.]
– Third-party cookies – set by services we embed or link to, such as Pinterest, Amazon or Gumroad, when you interact with them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies aside, the site works without them.
Links to Amazon and Gumroad
Links on this site to individual books use tracked links. When you click one, we may record that you clicked it and which page you came from, so we can tell which book pages are useful. Amazon and Gumroad may also set their own cookies at that point, under their own policies.
We do this to measure our own marketing. The books we link to are our own.
Who else processes your data
We use third-party services that may process limited data on our behalf or their own:
– Namecheap – Web hosting and site software
– Gumroad – for digital sales, as an independent controller
– Amazon – for paperback sales, as an independent controller
– Pinterest – if you arrive from or interact with our pins
Once you leave this site for Amazon, Gumroad or Pinterest, their privacy policies govern, not ours.
Children’s privacy
Our books are for children. This website is not. It is written for and directed at adults – parents, grandparents, teachers, homeschoolers and tutors – and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email [contact@nermiliobooks.com] and we will delete it.
Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these bases:
– Legitimate interests – running, securing and improving the website, and understanding which pages are used.
– Consent – for non-essential cookies and for marketing email, where required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
– Legal obligation – where we must keep records by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw consent you previously gave.
International transfers
We operate from Serbia and use service providers located in the United States, the European Union and elsewhere. When we transfer data outside your country, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
How long we keep things
We keep email correspondence as long as needed to address your question, then delete it. We keep mailing list data until you unsubscribe.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. We’ll note material changes on the page.
