When your second grader needs more practice with a particular math skill, finding the right starting point matters.
Math Speed Drills Grade 2 keeps each skill in its own chapter, so you can go straight to the topic your child needs to practice.
Each chapter focuses on one skill, giving your child repeated opportunities to work through the same type of problem instead of switching between different skills on every page.
How Each Chapter Works
The chapters follow the same three-step approach: see how it works, practice the skill, and check the answers.
1. See the method.
Each chapter starts by showing your child how to approach the skill. In the addition and subtraction chapters, one problem is solved in numbered steps, with carrying shown in a place-value chart where needed. The two times-table chapters begin with the tables, patterns to look for, and a guide to reading them.
2. Practice the same skill.
Seven practice pages follow, all focused on the skill introduced at the beginning of the chapter. Each page includes spaces for your child’s name, score, time, and date, making it easy to record each practice session.
3. Check the work.
The answer key at the back lists answers by page and problem number, so you can check your work without solving every problem yourself.

What This Workbook Is – and Isn’t
Math Speed Drills Grade 2 provides focused practice on the 11 skills listed above, with an example or introductory guide for each chapter and a complete answer key. It is not a complete Grade 2 math curriculum and does not include word problems.
The Time field lets your child record how long a page takes, but there are no time limits or target times. Use it if tracking time is helpful, or focus on solving problems accurately without timing each session.
